Swimmers 'forget false legs in lockers'

May 14 2004

Forgetful swimmers left their artificial legs and arms in lockers at a swimming pool, bosses in Stoke-on-Trent have revealed.

Managers at Water World amassed 10 false limbs from absent-minded visitors who forgot to pick them up before returning home.

Pools manager Gemma Ward admitted she was "flabbergasted" at the figure, which emerged during an audit of 3,000 personal belongings left at the attraction last year, including false teeth.

All the limbs were subsequently retrieved by their owners.

"You can't quite believe someone would forget something as important as their legs or arms," Miss Ward said.
