We're almost three quarters of the way there - and it's all down to YOU.
Caring Evening Mail readers have helped us reach the fantastic milestone of £700,000 for our Why My Child appeal to help sick children across the West Midlands.
Now we're appealing to you to help us in our final push to hit our £1 million goal.
Launched in partnership with children's charity WellChild, our aim is set up Europe's first flagship research centre into childhood diseases and illnesses - right here at Birmingham Children's Hospital.
There are many charity's and associations which research individual diseases, like cancer.
But this research centre will be the only place in Europe which is dedicated to researching all childhood illnesses and diseases with professionals, with a long history of working with children, at the helm.
It will be aimed at developing cures where there are none and improving current treatments to make them less painless and taxing for youngsters, who are ill through no fault of their own.
And it's an appeal which you have taken to your hearts and given up your time and energy for.
Families, individuals, groups, schools and firms have all thrown their weight behind our appeal running marathons, completing aeroplane wingwalks and holding charity evenings and football matches.
But we just need you to go that little bit extra to raise the final £300,000 to get this vital centre off the ground.
WellChild's regional appeal manager, Teri Collett, said: "We have been amazed at the generosity of Mail readers.
"With their help they will make this dream a reality and help stop children suffering needlessly."
Teri added: "We are now so close to reaching our final target. Everyone is getting excited at the prospect of finally starting the ball rolling to get this important centre off the ground."
