A world renowned body building champion who masterminded a major drugs operation with an annual turnover of over £450,000 has been jailed for six-and-a-half years.
Simon Fan (32) who owned the Three Spires Gym in Lichfield, supplied steroids and drugs as well as the date-rape drug GBH, Stafford Crown Court heard.
Peter Haynes, prosecuting, said Fan was selling cocaine worth up to £4,000 a week along with class C drugs valued at around £300,000 a year.
Fan, of Harrington Walk, Lichfield, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply cocaine, possessing amphetamines with intent to supply, and three charges of possessing drugs.
Also before the court were Simon Bishton (32), of Gaia Lane; Jason Furneaux (26), of Darnsford Moors; and Anthony McGrath (25), of Sante Foy, all Lichfield.
Bishton, who was jailed for four-and-a-half years, admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine, conspiracy to supply drugs, and possessing drugs with intent to supply.
Furneaux was given a 150 hour community service order and McGrath an 80-hour order. They were both ordered to each pay £370 costs. Furneaux admitted one charge of possessing cocaine and McGrath two charges of possessing cocaine.
Judge Paul Glenn told Fan: "You were actively involved in drugs, you are a hard-headed businessman helping to supply cocaine and amphetamines." Mr Haynes said: "Fan was a major distributor and his friends in the dock helped him to benefit from his trade.
"They knew what he was doing and they knew what they were doing. The foundation of the drug trade was involved in providing steroids to body builders."
