Natalie Appleton has quit the ITV television show I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, it emerged today. The 31-year-old former All Saints star left at around 10.30am Australian time (12.30am GMT) today, a spokeswoman for the show confirmed. The singer has endured a torrid time in the jungle camp and was left in despair yesterday after viewers voted for her to undergo a fifth Bushtucker Trial. The spokeswoman said: "The celebrities can leave at any time. "When they want to leave they have to say 'I'm a celebrity... get me out of here!', which is what she (Natalie) cried today." She added that Natalie would remain in Australia until the end of the show, which is due to run until December 6. Her sister Lee is understood to be at the camp. Natalie's walkout follows the departure of former East 17 frontman Brian Harvey last week, who quit after a row with Janet Street-Porter over his flatulence. Former Sex Pistol John Lydon walked out on the last series of the show, while former EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook was the quitter in series two. Last night, unforgiving fans of the show voted to put Natalie through yet another Bushtucker Trial. "You have got to be kidding," she said, after learning she was to endure more torment. "I have nothing left." Directing her comments at the show's hosts, Ant and Dec, she asked: "Are you not bored of me?" Natalie's miserable failure to collect more than a handful of meals for the camp over the last few days has led to severe hunger among the celebrities in the jungle. She has had to face her fear of heights, has been dumped in 5ft-high boxes filled with slime and bugs, as well as trying to eat fish eyes and kangaroo testicles. She has also had to dive underwater to release buoys from ropes and coils as eels and snakes swam alongside her. The diminutive singer had complained that she had no energy because she had not eaten properly for so long. And yesterday her tiredness, coupled with the cold water in the Slither River challenge, meant she only managed to get one meal for the camp. |
