A Birmingham lawyer is touting for business in Iraq - offering to win compenation for Iraqis killed or injured by British soldiers!
Today's Evening Mail reveals that, while relatives of British war dead go without a penny in compensation, Phil Shiner, of Public Interest Lawyers in St Chad's Square, is suing the government on behalf of 13 families of Iraqi civilians.
If is calls for legal aid and compensation are granted, the taxpayer could face a bill of millions of pounds.
But Reg Keys, father of murdered Soliull Red Cap Thomas, slammed the move as "double standards" while Edgbaston MP Gisela Stuart described it as "disgraceful ambulance chasing."
