A susupected sex-attacker at the centre of a nationwide police hunt has been working in Birmingham as a DJ and children's entertainer, it emerged today.
Alex Dalgleish (pictured) has been using the alias Gordon Milton to avoid police and create a new life in Moseley and Solihull over the past year.
The 31-year-old is wanted by police for questioning about a series of sex offences on women in Lancashire. But his cover was blown when his mugshot appeared on the latest episode of Crimewatch.
More than 140 Midland people recognised Dalgleish and jammed studio and incident room phone-lines.
Now he has disappeared again - but may still be in the West Midlands.
Lancashire Police today revealed Dalgleish has been working as a DJ and children's entertainer for Sutton Coldfield-based Kings Entertainment in pubs across the region, including Erdington and Tamworth.
Det Con Dave Wade of Lancashire Police said Southport-born Dalgleish had now gone on the run again but could still be hiding locally.
One of the pubs where he worked was The Mill House, in Erdington. A member of staff, who did not want to be named, said she grew suspicious of Dalgleish after he became a children's entertainer and quizmaster.
"He was keeping back some of the money and acting strange," she said.
Police confirmed Dalgleish worked at pubs including The Mill House; the Asbury Tavern, in Great Barr; The Raven Pub, in Stechford; the Anchor Pub in Tamworth, the Coach and Horses, in Castle Bromwich and The Woodlands Rest in Shirley.
A spokesman for Kings Entertainment refused to comment.
A spokeswoman for Spirit Group Pubs, which owns The Raven, Coach and Horses and The Asbury Tavern where Dalgleish worked, said staff were co-operating with police.
