Leading figures from West Midlands football have agreed to answer the questions of Row Z readers.*
Today it's the turn of Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey (pictured) to take his place in the hotseat... Hi Jez! You seem to get the blame for everything and anything that goes wrong at Molineux these days. Does the criticism ever get to you? Grant, Rugeley. JM: "Part of the job, Grant, part of the job! I've been involved in football for some time now and you learn to handle the brickbats. "Everything I do here is part of a collective effort to get this club back where it belongs - at the top. Sometimes people forget I'm a fan, too. But you get used to the criticism." Why weren't there more quality signings when we got promoted to The Premiership? JG, Lichfield JM: "Well that's water under the bridge now, we can't look back - only forwards. We do try and attract high calibre players to Molineux, but the terms have to be right for us as well as them." Why has it taken so long to find a manager? Elsie, Halesowen JM: "The managerial appointment is a crucial one for Wolverhampton Wanderers FC and we will get the right man - or woman - for the job. It would be ridiculous to make a hasty decision now. "And I would like to add that as a board, we have a great deal of respect for Stuart Gray and his coaching team." I have great difficulty parking my car near the ground on matchdays. What are you going to do about it? Richard, Stafford JM: "I'm sorry to hear that parking problems are impinging on your Wolverhampton Wanderers match day experience. "May I suggest taking advantage of Wolverhampton's excellent public transportation network. I am reliably informed that many buses no longer smell of urine." Why do Greggs on the High Street never have any pasties after 2pm? Gavin, Walsall JM: "The pasties issue is a concern to us all, Gavin, and has been discussed at board level. I'm afraid all we can do is monitor the situation and hope that our representations to Greggs are heeded in due course." Wolverhampton's one-way system is quite difficult to navigate. Explain yourself. Drew, Kingswinford JM: "We all share your concerns about the nature of Wolverhampton's one-way system. Unfortunately, this issue is the responsibility of the local authority, not Wolverhampton Wanderers FC." My guttering was fine until the start of this season. After our defeat at Gillingham it suddenly became blocked. Are you going to apologize. AND IF NOT WHY NOT?!?!?!?! Sadie, Tettenhall JM: "Of course I'm sorry to hear about your guttering, Sadie, but I'm not sure it's an issue that we, as a club, can bear any responsibility for." My dog died a mere four days after Dave Jones left Molineux. I don't know how you can sleep at night. Roy, Oldbury. JM: "I'm not quite sure what one event has to do with the other but you have my most sincere sympathy." Since the departure of Portuguese midfielder Silas - a move which you must have known about - I have found it increasingly difficult to make my wife feel like a 'whole' woman, if you catch my drift. Thank you very bloody much, Jez Moxey. (By the way I am being sarcastic). Roy (no relation of Roy), Oldbury. JM: "Well, er, I'm not quite sure what to say about that one. If it's any consolation, Silas is playing quite well for Maritimo in Portugal, now, by all accounts." Row Z: I'm afraid that's all we've got time for. Thank you, Jez Moxey. JM: "It's a pleasure. Always nice to get some constructive feedback from the fans." * No they haven't. We've made the whole thing up. |
