Aston Villa boss David O'Leary today took an astonishing swipe at the man he says is making his job "hell" - himself.
The ex-Leeds manager, whose Villa side are just eight points above the relegation places, believes his position has been undermined by a series of high-profile comments in recent weeks.
"I've given this a lot of thought," he said, "and things would be a lot better here if David O'Leary didn't keep opening his big gob and putting his foot in it. He's making my life hell.
"I've got enough on my plate without having to deal with the kind of comments he's been coming out with in recent weeks.
"I mean, I've got enough on my plate. I've got a small squad of honest young lads here and the last thing they need is David O'Leary becoming embroiled in a row with David O'Leary. I don't need to tell you how confusing that would be for a small squad of young lads, no matter how honest they are."
But now O'Leary says enough is enough.
"Enough is enough," he said.
"I'm not going to take this any more. If David O'Leary can't be relied upon then I'm not going to speak to him any more. Starting from no..."
