Pop babe Natasha Bedingfield can't wait to get to Birmingham tomorrow - because she loves hearing Brummies talk.
"The accent is my favourite bit about Birmingham," enthuses the 23-year-old who appears at the Alexandra Theatre.
"I have lots of friends at Birmingham university so I've always enjoyed visiting the city.
"Unfortunately, when I performed at Perry Park as part of the Radio 1 weekend last year I didn't get much time off between sound checks, styling and performing to explore the city.
"If I had a completely free day in Birmingham I would spend some valuable time with my friends and let them lead me to their favourite haunts!
"I love good food so I would probably make them take me to their favourite restaurants."
Not that Natasha has much free time these days.
Her first three singles releases, Single, These Words and Unwritten, all made the top six in the UK, with her Unwritten album charting at number one.
"It's really bizarre," she says of the experience of being in a foreign country and hearing These Words blaring from radios.
"It still shocks me when I hear it being played. I was walking down the street the other day and I heard it coming from a car. It still doesn't seem believable!
"However it is something I have always wanted and just makes what has been a fantastic year for me even better."
The icing on the cake for Natasha was performing Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody with brother Daniel at the Brits.
"We're very supportive of each other and always have been," she says.
"Of course, there's a bit of sibling rivalry between us, but in the same way that the Williams sisters can still play tennis against each other.
"It'd be interesting if we both had singles out at the same time - that would be quite a fun thing to do."
