Rock star Glenn Hughes returns to his home town tonight as he kicks off a two-month European tour.
The former Deep Purple vocalist and bass player will be at JB's in Dudley - and hopes he'll find some friendly faces.
He says: "I am so looking forward to returning to Dudley. This is my home town gig. I have played there a few times now and I am confident my old friends and some new faces will help the Soul Mover tour get off to a great start."
The tour coincides with the release of Glenn's new album, Soul Mover, on CD. Originally scheduled for December and to have featured Red Hot Chilli Peppers' drummer Chad Smith, the tour had to be rescheduled, but there's still a chance that Smith will fly over to join his old friend.
Smith was actively involved in the recording of Soul Mover and plays drums throughout.
Ex Chillis and Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro also appears on the title track and the accompanying video, which was shot in the California desert and can be viewed at www.frontiers.it/ soulmover_video.mpg
Glenn is one of the most prolific artists of his generation and is still writing and performing new material.
His live tour is the start of a busy year for Glenn, who has just finished recording with Black Sabbath's Tony Iommi. The results of this latest collaboration with the Sabbath guitarist will lead to new album, band and accompanying tour.
There will be support tonight from The Lizards, featuring ex-Rainbow and Blue Oyster Cult drummer Bobby Rondinelli.
