Elephants, water buffalo and cheetah are roaming the walls of the Barber Institute galleries in the first ever exhibition of a former student's work.
Beauty of the Beasts: The African Savannah showcases the work of University of Birmingham History of Art graduate Chris Wright, who is now taking his first steps as a professional wildlife artist.
The pencil drawings in the exhibition are, unusually for the Barber, on sale to visitors, with a percentage of the proceeds from each sale going to one of a shortlist of seven wildlife charities, including the RSPCA and the Born Free Foundation.
Chris' drawings are based on the photographs of wildlife art collector Dianne Knight, who has given him the seal of approval by commissioning a drawing from him based on her photos.
He says: "It's very exciting, particularly having been a student here. But it's also somewhat intimidating, having my work up there alongside the work of Monet and Botticelli."
