Art lovers are being invited to take a journey with a Birmingham artist this weekend.
A new exhibition by Kevin Parrish, 'The Best Way To Travel', opens at Cambrian Wharf, near Brindleyplace on Sunday.
A former civil engineering technician and draughtsman, Kevin has been painting professionally since 1995.
A traditional oil painter, his work is characteristically inspired by the natural beauty of the world around him and includes portraiture and landscape scenes.
His paintings are often an extension of his hobbies and interests, and regularly feature modes of transport including railways and canals.
He has also painted a number of celebrities, ranging from Sir Cliff Richard, Posh Spice, David Beckham and The Beatles, to Elvis and Margaret Thatcher.
He says: "The title for my solo exhibition was initially inspired by Mike Pinder of The Moody Blues rock group, one of my favourite bands.
"He wrote the song 'The Best Way To Travel' from In Search Of The Lost Chord album in 1968.
"The reason I chose the title was because the car is the most used form of travel but it isn't necessarily the best, especially as the roads become busier and busier.
The motorist is becoming more stressed as a result.
"My exhibition offers alternative forms of travel - more pleasurable and less stressful ones."
Born in Birmingham, Kevin now lives in Leamington Spa and is resident artist at Warwick Studios in the town.
* 'The Best Way To Travel' runs from Sunday until September 24 at Cambrian House, 2 Canal Side, off Edward Street, Birmingham. For more info, visit www.kevinparrish.co.uk
