Here's a blow-by-blow account of the ribtickling moments being offered at the hallowed Midland Arts Centre this month. Cut out and keep for a real laugh - of particular note for fans of Stan and Ollie.

Presented by HoiPolloi, My Uncle Arly delves into the poems of Edward Lear. A piece of absurd comedy concentrating on the illustrations and nonsense poems of one of Britain's favourite writers. Fri Oct 8.

Cult comedy sketch group Bread and Circuses return to the Hexagon with their brand new show Parmesan? James Cook, Joseph Farrow, Rob Jagger, Jonathan Lee, Andy Newsham, Andy Richardson and Dan Smith are sure to add to their string of sell out shows with this multi media comedy. Shows get booked up early and may cause offence to some. Sat Oct 9.

This is Laurel and Hardy day, celebrating the duo's diverse career in silent and sound comedy, with some of the funniest and rarest films. There are three different programmes throughout the day, featuring ten classic comedies including Scram, That's My Wife and Another Fine Mess. Fans will get the chance to see rare Laurel and Hardy clips throughout the day, as well as taking part in quizzes and memorabilia stalls. A rarely seen feature compilation The Crazy World of Laurel and Hardy will be shown, as will extra surprises. Sun Oct 10.

Continuing with the Laurel and Hardy theme, Laughing Gravy is a new play all about Stan Laurel and his struggle to eventual stardom. The Zenith Theatre Company explore what made the pair famous, and create a hilarious yet poignant account of their behind-the scenes story. The play uncovers Stan's quest for the next gag, as well as his involvement in one of the most famous double acts of all time. Tue Oct 19.

Showcasing some of the best local talent, Jongleurs Award winner James Cook brings us Second City Stand-Up. All part of the mac's comedy course, these new comics have already been making a name for themselves on the comedy circuit. Their homecoming gig promises to be sidesplitting. Tue Nov 2.

Natalie Haynes has been making an impression on both sides of the Atlantic, and has appeared on BBC7's Spanking New and is a panellist on Mindgames on BBC4. Famous for her self-deprecating wit and intelligence, she has charmed audiences across the UK, Ireland and Berlin. Brand new show Still Not Sorry features her fixation on death and fondness for maths. Mon Nov 22.
