Developer Birmingham Properties Group (BPG) and clients of LaSalle Investment Management are soon to submit a planning application for a £100 million-plus mixed use scheme on a 1.25 acre site at Birmingham city's gateway, to be known as Pentavia.

The site is to the east of Auchinleck House and occupies a prominent western gateway position close to Birmingham's Five Ways Island.

The scheme will comprise of 120,000 sq ft grade A office building fronting Broad Street, two hotels, residential and student accommodation, together with an enclosed retail mall.

John Tebbutt, managing director of BPG, said: "The site has previously had too many false dawns, but BPG has created a scheme that can be developed, not withstanding the current challenging environment.

"Our scheme will create a landmark development on a prominent site at a key western gateway for the city."
