CLASSICALLY trained mezzo soprano Zoë Mace has rightfully earned plaudits for her sublimely beautiful and extraordinarily mature voice, which has led to many hailing her as "the new Charlotte Church".
From the vocal virtuosity of her performance on Le Cisseaux dans le chamille to her unforgettable rendition of Nessun Dorma, Zoe Mace is a name that you will be hearing a lot more of in the run up to Christmas, thanks to her breathtaking new album Once Upon a Time.
But the young singer’s compassionate campaigning for Down’s Syndrome charities to honour the memory of her sister Jodie is every bit as remarkable and though Zoe is only twelve years old, she has already raised over £120,000 for charity.
Recently Zoe joined forces with Rosa Monckton, best friend of the late Princess Diana who has a child with Down’s Syndrome and is patron of Down’s Syndrome charity Downside Up.
Their campaign on behalf of the charity has gained national exposure and Zoe’s deeply moving version of Eric Clapton’s Tears in Heaven is now available to download with all proceeds going to Downside Up.
Though Zoë’s new album Once Upon a Time looks set to launch her as one of the music world’s most exciting emerging stars what is most striking about her aside from her remarkable talent is her genuine desire to improve the lives of others less fortunate then herself.
Of course Zoë hopes her album Once Upon A Time will make it to the top of the classical charts. But far more important to her is that Tears in Heaven gives hope and much needed support to children with Down’s Syndrome.
Because Zoë Mace is one rising star with her feet firmly on the ground and her heart very much in the right place.
