Fashion shoots are quite a fraught affair. Behind the glamorous façade of designer labels, wide-angle lenses and stylists is a long list of potential headaches. When CityLiving brought together five of BBC Birmingham's finest - Countryfile's Michaela Strachan, Desi DNA presenter Anita Rani, Trevor Harrison from The Archers, Radio WM's Adrian Goldberg and Steve Clamp from Midlands Today - it was the weather that decided not to play ball. But under a leaden sky that threatened to rain on our (fashion) parade, our models from the Beeb turned on the style and lit up the day as they sampled some of the beautiful clothes on offer at their new home, The Mailbox. STEVE CLAMP Although now known to viewers of Midlands Today as a sports presenter, Steve's first job in the media was in 1995 as a visual effects assistant on the film Judge Dredd. Since then he's gone on to work for Channel Chelsea - the football club's internal station - Manchester United's MUTV and Sky Sports News, before coming to Birmingham to present the sports news alongside Nick Owen and Suzanne Virdee on Midlands Today.
ADRIAN GOLDBERG Known to millions as the investigative reporter from Watchdog (which he worked on from 1998-2002), Adrian was born in Harborne and studied English at Birmingham University. He has since worked on a range of TV and radio programmes including Channel 4 Cricket, BBC One's Healthcheck and The Really Useful Show. He currently fronts BBC WM's Breakfast Show and presents the regional section for the Politics Show on Sundays, BBC One.
TREVOR HARRISON MBE Stourbridge-born Trevor may not be instantly recognisable, but his voice is to the legions of Archers Addicts who tune in every week to the Radio 4 serial. Playing the role of Ambridge's dysfunctional Eddie Grundy since the 70s, Trevor was honoured with an MBE in 2001, The Archers' 50th anniversary year, for services to radio drama. Trevor's TV credits include In A Land of Plenty, Hazel, Richard II and Crossroads.
ANITA RANI Anita, who grew up in Bradford and studied broadcasting at Leeds University, is one of the country's brightest presenting talents. Currently fronting the BBC Two entertainment show Desi DNA, Anita has also been a presenter for Network East, BBC3 current affairs show The State We're In and has worked for Five on a number of programmes including The Chart, Spring Break Live and Party In The Park.
MICHAELA STRACHAN Michaela has been a regular face on TV since the late 80s, hosting the Wide Awake Club, Wacaday for TV-AM, The Hitman and Her as well as a string of children's shows. Since 1990, though, it's wildlife programmes for which she's become best known - 11 series of the Really Wild Show, The Web, The Animal Zone and Postcards From The Wild. She is now one of the presenters on BBC One's Countryfile - but still finds time for her annual appearance in pantomime at Christmas.
