IF you're dreaming of TV stardom, take your first steps to a career in shopping channel presenting in Birmingham this weekend.
On 30th June and 1st July, applicants from far and wide will be heading to QVC’s Presenter Search at the Paragon Hotel in Birmingham to audition for the role of a presenter on the TV Shopping Channel.
It’s QVC’s first ever national search for a new presenter and is open to anyone over 18 with a passion for presenting, who thinks they’ve got what it takes to be beamed live in to 17 million UK homes! Hundreds of hopefuls turned up for the London auditions on 15th June and further auditions are being held in Manchester and Glasgow as QVC searches for a new face for Britain’s favourite TV shopping channel.
The budding new talent will be put through their paces by the QVC Head of Presenters, Mark West and one of the most experienced of QVC’s presenters, Julia Roberts but the ultimate decision on who win will be made by QVC viewers.
Head of Presenters, Mark knows exactly what to look for: ‘Personality, enthusiasm, intelligence and somebody with interesting life experience make great presenters on QVC’.
The winner of this national competition will be offered a contract for up to a year as a regular presenter on the station’s daily shows and could be working with leading international brands such as Elemis, Decleor, Sony, Bose and Butler & Wilson and join the ranks of Carol Smillie, Tamara Beckwith, Tania Bryer and Joan Rivers who’ve all presented on QVC.
