A MAN who was airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car was today fighting for his life in hospital.

The 60-year-old pedestrian was walking along Cofton Road, in West Heath, at 3.30pm yesterday when he was knocked down by a Ford Focus.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said they received a flurry of emergency calls about the incident.
