Selfridges gets green light for St Patrick's Day

Mar 7 2007

Selfridges bathed in green light for St Patrick's Day.

THE ICONIC Selfridges building has gone green for St Patrick's Day celebrations.

The department store is being lit up with green lights which will be seen from across the city when the sun sets.

Every evening the bubbly exterior will turn to the emblematic Irish colour as shoppers and workers make their way home.

Singers and dancers were on hand as the lights were switched on for the first time on Monday night in preparation for St Patrick's Day on Saturday, March 17.

Celebrations in the city include marching bands, food stalls and Irish story telling as the city remembers its Celtic roots.
