Michael Standing is under no illusions as to the importance of Walsall's trip to Chester-field this Saturday as the Saddlers search for their first away win away this season.
"It is our away form which is going to get us going," said the midfielder. "There is no need to panic, but we need to go away and win and then the confidence will flow."
Walsall have not won on their travels since April, when a Lee Bradbury penalty gave them victory at Derby, which makes Saturday's trip to the Recreation Ground all the more vital.
"Sooner or later someone is going to get a hiding. We need to start with the away form when we go to Chesterfield," said Standing.
Standing had mixed feelings about Saturday's 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday at Bescot. The 23-year-old scored the Saddlers equaliser, his first goal for the club, but was clearly frustrated at the side's failure to go on and collect all three points.
"We did not play as well as we could and should," he said. "They got what they wanted, which was a draw. I thought once we scored, the pressure would mount and we would go on and win.
"I enjoyed scoring the goal, but we needed to go on and win, especially with this team and all the ball players we have."
Former Aston Villa and Bradford player Standing is clearly enjoying life at Paul Merson's League One side, and is confident his new club can correct an uncertain start to the season which has brought only two wins from eight matches.
"It has been good since I came here," he said. "Now we need to string a run of results together. If we get back to back wins we will right back up the table."
