Recent dramatic developments at the college have won recognition and accolades for Matthew Boulton's successes. The most widely-publicised of these has been the Queen's Anniversary Prize for the college's outstanding contribution to education and training. This was collected by a party of staff, students and business supporters in a ceremony at Buckingham Palace in February. In addition to Royal recognition one of only six further education colleges to be so honoured it has also won a Beacon Award for its dental health programmes, and an award from Midland Business Enterprise magazine. The college was also a runner-up in the Birmingham Business of the Year competition in 2002, has recently achieved the ISO9000 Quality Assurance kitemark, and was designated a Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for print, design and media within the last 12 months.
