1. Sacks of Potatoes Aston/ Gosta Green A very popular place for students across Birmingham. There's a very lively atmosphere and the place is always packed. A perfect opportunity to drink the night away with your discounted drinks.
2. The Bristol Pear Selly Oak A Birmingham Uni' local pub and the chances are if you don't already know everyone who drinks there, it won't be long before you do. There's a friendly atmosphere and a casual dress code.
3. Crown & Cushion Perry Barr A 'Scream' themed pub that has recently undergone refurbishment and a place where many UCE students go to celebrate what little work they've done.
The food is very good value for money, drinks are cheap and the atmosphere is always welcoming.
4. O'Neills Harborne/ City Centre/ Moseley If you're just after atmosphere then the Irish themed O'Neills chain is the place to let your hair down. A good place to start, or end, a pub-crawl around the pubs and bars of Harborne. The food and drink is average in price, but the craic makes up for it.
5. The Gosta Green Aston One of several student hangouts across the Aston Uni and Gosta Green campus. Its best feature is the cheap drinks, followed by the friendly local atmosphere and the average but cheap food. If you've been once you're likely to become a regular.
