Noel Coward's Private Lives run comes to an end

Jan 25 2008

Birmingham Mail

A TALE of divorce and reconciliation at the Kidderminster Rose Theatre is set to close as the curtain falls for the final time on the production of Noel Coward's Private Lives.

Performed by Kidderminster production company, The Nonentities, the comedy drama tells the story of a divorced couple who meet again after five years while they are both on honeymoon with their new spouses.

They fall in love all over again and with just a cursory thought for their unfortunate partners they elope to Paris.

Billed as a classic comedy of bad manners, dry humour and quicksilver sparring, the play is a remake of Coward's 1930 hit that starred Gertrude Lawrence and Laurence Olivier.

The play hs since been a big hit around the globe over the years.

The final showing of the Kidderminster production is tomorrow with tickets costing £8.
