In Search Of A Midnight Kiss (15)

Jun 20 2008

In Search Of A Midnight Kiss

SHOT in black and white and only showing at the Electric Cinema, Station Street, this is a film for people who want a romantic comedy with tinges of old-school Woody Allen (Manhattan).

Written and directed by Alex Holdridge (Sexless) it has a fair bit in common with last year's Irish hit Once.

What it lacks by not having an Oscar-winning song to put some icing on the cake, it tries to make up for with shots of the LA we don't know.

Wilson (Scoot McNairy) seeks a date for New Year's Eve in a 100-minute story which crystallises the agony of loneliness.

Sara Simmonds is Vivian, the believable blonde from the school of hard knocks who comes into his world.

But will it all end in smiles... or tears?
